The congregation at Zion Lutheran Church has invited the community to attend their Christusbaum lighting Friday, Dec. 5, between 7:30-9 p.m., following the Light the Night Parade.
The lights on the outdoor Christmas tree display on the front lawn of the church located at 426 W. Main St. will be turned on that evening.
Each Christusbaum or Christ Tree is decorated with lights and hand-crafted ornaments that tell a part of the Christmas story.
“You will step into a forest of wonder and light, where each Christmas tree tells a part of the story of the very first Christmas,” said the Rev. Jonathan Mollenkopf.
The trees will be on display throughout the month of December.
There will be free hot chocolate and cookies with caroling.
Parking is available in the lot at 413 W. Austin St.
