No arrests made by FPD on Thanksgiving Day

The Fredericksburg Police Department responded to 256 calls for service, made 249 traffic stops and 10 arrests between Monday, Nov. 24 and Sunday, Nov. 30.

Arrests

On Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 8:48 p.m. an officer on patrol observed a traffic violation and made a stop on the 600 block of East Main Street, where contact was made with the man driving. The officer smelled alcohol on the driver and administered field sobriety tests. Bobby Craig Brooks, 67, of Colorado City was arrested for driving while intoxicated with an open alcohol container and was transported to the Gillespie County Jail.

At 5:17 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, an officer was dispatched to the 500 block of South Washington Street for a physical disturbance. The officer arrived on scene and made contact with a man and a woman. After speaking with both of them, the man, Kevin Michael Morris III, 20, of San Antonio was arrested for assault causes bodily injury, intereference with emergency request for assistance and unlawful restraint.

An officer responded to a traffic wreck on the 500 block of East Main Street on Friday, Nov. 28 at 7:31 p.m. After arriving on scene, the officer made contact with the drivers, one of whom smelled like alcohol. The officer administered field sobriety tests to the driver. Patrick Ryan Miller-Pena, 40, of Houston was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

On Friday, Nov. 28 at 10:28 p.m. an officer on patrol observed a traffic violation and made a stop on the 600 block of South Creek Street. The officer made contact with the woman driving and dispatch advised that she had an active local warrant. Christina Ann Palacios, 52, of Fredericksburg was arrested for the warrant for failure to maintain financial responsibility.

At 12:07 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, an officer responded to a physical disturbance call on the 400 block of East Main Street. The officer arrived on scene and made contact with a man, who smelled like alcohol and was slurring his speech. Jacob Matthew Williams, 30, of Austin was arrested for public intoxication. A copy of the report will be sent to the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) for further investigation.

An officer was dispatched to assist a vehicle with two flat tires on the 400 block of South Adams Street on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 12:43 a.m. The officer arrived on scene and made contact with the man driving, who smelled like alcohol and was slurring his speech. The officer administered field sobriety tests to the driver. Blaine Alexander Edwards, 21, of Kerrville was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

On Saturday, Nov. 29 at 2:07 a.m. an officer on patrol saw a man trying to start a fight on the 300 block of East Main Street. The officer made contact with the man, who smelled like alcohol and was slurring his speech. Francisco Antonio Castro Jarquin, 31, of Fredericksburg was arrested for public intoxication. This report will be forwarded to the TABC for further investigation.

At 8:08 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, an officer on patrol saw a traffic violation and made a stop at Friendship Lane and South Adams Street. The officer made contact with the woman driving, smelled marijuana and then conducted a probable cause search, during which narcotics were found. Tommie Jean Carpenter, 61, of Gatesville was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

An officer on patrol observed a traffic violation and made a stop on the 200 block of Friendship Lane at 10:44 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29. The officer made contact with the man driving, who smelled like alcohol. The officer administered field sobriety tests. Omar Alejandro Martinez, 31, of Fredericksburg was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Theft

On Friday, Nov. 28 an officer responded to a shoplifting call from the 200 block of East Main Street. The complainant told the officer a man came into the store wearing a cowboy hat and an employee placed a Concho band on the hat. The man walked out of the store without paying for the band, which was valued at $47. The complainant does not wish to file charges, but if the suspect is located asks that they pay for or return the band.
