NeedsCouncilannounces$25kmatchinggrantfromCreateHealthy

The Hill Country Community Needs Council received a matching grant of $25,000 from Create Healthy to expand its reach of counseling programs to serve the growing demand for mental health services.

The Needs Council’s team of seven professional therapists help individuals rediscover their inner strength and reclaim their sense of stability, providing a safe space for people to heal and ultimately return to a life of healthy choices, said HCCNC Executive Director Cindy Heifner.

“Medical science confirms what we instinctively know: we can’t function at our best while struggling with trauma, insecurity or broken trust,” Heifner said. “Whether it’s emotional or relational, the effects of trauma can deeply impact our ability to make decisions and move forward in life.

“Whether a person needs a few sessions to gain perspective or long-term support through a difficult journey, our therapists are here to guide them,” she added.

Heifner invited the public to join the staff in meeting the goal of matching $25,000 in funds raised by December 31. “The funds directly benefit your neighbors in need, providing mental health services that can transform lives.

“We are privileged to witness the profound changes in the lives of those who have entrusted us with their healing,” she said. “From the individual who finds new hope after years of abuse, to the troubled teenager who builds selfesteem and hope for their future, the impact of this work is immeasurable.”
