Narcotics investigators bust two people on possession,manufacturing,delivery ofdrugs

The Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office fielded 396 calls for the week of Nov. 24-30. They made 245 traffic stops, issued 174 warnings and 40 traffic citations. The responded to six traffic accidents, one major and five minor. They arrested 13 people and the Gillespie County Jail population was 72 as of Monday, Dec. 1.

Drugs – Alcohol

Narcotics Division investigators and a patrol deputy looked into an assault that was related to drug activity on the 300 block of Whispering Oaks at 12:58 p.m., Monday, Nov. 24. After making contact with a suspect of the assault, he admitted to having been involved in a physical altercation, over the weekend, stemming from money that was owed to him.

While speaking with the man, law enforcement learned that he had smoked marijuana earlier in the day and a disposable vape pen that had THC was produced from inside the residence.

During the search of the residence, investigators located additional items found more THC-related paraphernalia and a ledger. The ledger contained information detailing THC and cocaine purchases/ sales.

The man admitted to being possession of cocaine and investigators located a backpack containing cocaine, packaging material and a digital scale.

Jose Antonio Morales Ornelas, 24, of Fredericksburg, was arrested for manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance and taken to jail. The assault report is still under investigation.

On Tuesday, Nov. 25, investigators in narcotics and criminal divisions assisted the Kerrville Police Department with the execution of a search warrant related to a wanted person at a residence on the 900 block of Barnett Street.

The two agencies had been in communication regarding a man known to be involved in selling controlled substances in Gillespie, Kerr and surrounding counties.

Kerrville police informed Gillespie County narcotics officers the wanted man resided in Kerrville and had two outstanding felony warrants out of Gillespie County.

After obtaining a search warrant for the residence on Barnett Street, Gillespie County deputies executed the warrant and found him inside the residence.

Eddie Escoto, of Kerrville, was arrested two counts of manufacture/ delivery of a controlled substance out of Gillespie County and two counts of possession of a dangerous drug and possession of a controlled substance out of Kerr County. He was taken to the Kerr County Jail.

At 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign on Ranch Road 1631. The deputy smelled an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, the deputy found marijuana, THC vape pen and psylocibin. The passenger in the vehicle said the items were hers. Dessie Denise Zitzevancih, 64, of Surprise, Arizona, was arrested on two counts of possession of a controlled substance and taken to jail.

On Sunday, Nov. 30 at 7:32 a.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on Friendship Lane. While speaking with the driver, the deputy saw a THC pen in view and during a probable cause search found many T HC i tems. J unior P han, 36, of Johnson City, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and transported to jail.

Theft

On Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 8:16 a.m. a detention officer met with a woman, who had multiple arrest warrants, in front of the jail. Bonnie Kirk, 78 of Harper, was taken into custody without incident on eight theft of property warrants.

Other

At 9:53 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 26, two deputies went to a residence on Derwen Drive to locate a man who had two active local warrants for evading arrest/detention with a vehicle and motion to revoke probation. Edgar Castro, 31, of Fredericksburg, was located and taken to jail on the warrants.

On Friday, Nov. 28 at 10:31 p.m., a deputy located a vehicle parked on the side of the roadway on U.S. 290 East. The deputy saw a man walking in the area and made contact with him. After confirming the man’s identity with dispatch, the deputy was notified the man had an out of county warrant. Mario Hernandez, 41, of Mountain Home, was arrested on an out-of-county warrant for driving while license invalid with a previously suspended license without financial responsibility. He was taken to jail.

On Saturday, Nov. 29 at 1:34 a.m., a deputy stopped a vehicle for modified exhaust pipes on the 500 block of South Adams Street. The driver of the vehicle had one citation and one warning related to running straight header pipes on his vehicle without any mufflers. Sabastian Bichsel, 19, of Fredericksburg was arrested for no exhaust emission system-originally equipped but removed and possession/purchase/consuming/ receiving cigarettes, e-cigarettes, or other tobacco products by a minor. He was taken to jail.

On Saturday, Nov. 29 at 5:46 a.m., a man turned himself in at the Law Enforcement Center. Chad Jasmine, 62, of Vedra Beach, Florida was taken to jail on a local possession of a controlled substance warrant.

On Sunday, Nov. 30 at 8:19 p.m., a deputy took a man who was on U.S. 87 South into custody on local warrants. William Robert Ersch, 43, of Fredericksburg, was arrested on two local warrants for terroristic threat of family/household and invasive visual recording. He was taken to jail.

Detentions

Deputies stopped two vehicles for traffic violations throughout the week of Nov. 17-23, then after questioning, issued seven ICE detainers for individuals who were undocumented. They called for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency to pick up the individuals from detention. The incidents occurred on: On Friday, Nov. 28 at 10:36 p.m., a deputy stopped a vehicle for equipment violation. Jose Rodolfo Rocha Ortega, 28 and Elia Rocha Ortega, 40, were detained.

On Saturday, Nov. 29, at 8:17 a.m., a deputy initiated a traffic stop for obstructed license plate. Melbin Joel Marcia Granados, 34, Wilmer Marcia Granados, 43, Javier Mazamares, 48, Eduardo Zelaya, 29, and Jose Argueta Vazquez Zasquez, 45 were detained. Melbin Joel Marcia Granados was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, after deputies found cocaine.
