The Fredericksburg Tennis Association celebrated its 50th anniversary by hosting the Generation Gap tournament on Nov. 22. The day saw youth and adult doubles pairs play at the Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park tennis courts.
“Players enjoyed reminiscing about the history of tennis in Fredericksburg and made some new friends along the way,” said Randall King, an organizer of the event.
The winners in doubles were Carl Langerhans/Gus Wegner, Dusty Cathey/ Carter Cathey and Sandra Weinheimer/Erin Weinheimer.
The mixed doubles winners were Carl Langerhans/ Cayden Langerhans.
The runner-ups were Seelye Harrison/Jeremy Graham, Garrett Bonn/ Brady Bonn, Jacque Clemens/ Angela Lopez and Charles Cohn/Skylar Cohn.
The FTA will wrap up its year with a Christmas event on Tuesday, Dec. 9. The organization will show a video recounting the history of FTA, with interviews with the founders and members.
