Three speakers will explore different aspects of Gillespie County history during the Oct. 14, Oct. 16 and Oct. 23 classes of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). Michael Barr will do a program called “Swing-ing Doors, Saloons and Dancehalls.” It will highlight legendary drinking and dancing establishments in the Texas Hill Country. Barr will examine dancehall culture, music, the people who frequented dancehalls, along with the artists who played there. The program is Tuesday, Oct 14. The class will be at the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church at 1800 N. Llano St.
