Betsy Ross (left), portrayed by Amber Carns, and the Town Crier (right), portrayed by Darby Cheek, present a photocopy of the United States Constitution to Logan Taylor, 10, of Austin, at the National Museum of the Pacific War 238th birthday celebration of the U.S. Constitution Saturday. Taylor’s great-grandfather was United States Army Captain Claude Ewing Lovett Jr., who served in the 2nd Battalion of the 357th Infantry Regiment in the 90th Infantry Division in World War II. Lovett was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for extraordinary heroism on Nov. 12, 1944, in the vicinity of Koenigsmacker, France. Lovett also received two Silver Stars, two Bronze Stars, Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, three Campaign Stars, the Beachhead Landing Arrowhead, and the French Croix De Guerre. — Standard-Radio Post/Cary Burgess
