I have heard a lot about gerrymandering in the news, with regard to the Texas Democrats that fled the state to avoid a quorum and prevent any decision on redistricting. Democrats claim that redistricting will end Democracy if this is allowed to happen. Actually, gerrymandering has been around since almost the beginning of American Democracy. While the term was not first used until 1812, it was first employed in 1788.
