An anniversary for women’s right to vote
T exas women voted for the first time on July 27, 1918 — 107 years ago. This was before ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution on Aug. 26, 1920 granting women the right to vote. July 27, 1918 was the date of the Democratic primary in Texas and women voted. (Interestingly, there was no Republican primary in Texas at that time.)
