Area finally poised to dry out
Second Front
Hill Country Weather with Dr Doppler Cary Burgess on July 16, 2025
Area finally poised to dry out

The Hill Country has been locked into a pattern of wet and stormy conditions for the past two weeks. After weeks of cloudy skies and damp weather, it appears we will transition to drier conditions and hotter temperatures through the upcoming weekend and early next week.

We can expect more sunshine in the forecast during the coming days with lower rain chances until the last few days of July.

Wednesday storms

Before we completely dry out, we can expect a few showers and storms to linger across the area Wednesday.

It should become partly sunny and humid. High temperatures climb into the upper 80s and lower 90s. South winds average 10 to 15 mph. Brief downpours are possible if a storm moves across your area.

Storm chances diminish Wednesday evening, and we should begin to dry out with regard to storm chances.

With soil moisture remaining high, it will feel muggy for most areas with low temperatures in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees. Patchy fog may develop by Thursday morning.

Dry Thursday

A ridge of high pressure settles across the Hill Country Thursday.

The result should be more sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures.

The humidity remains high due to recent rainfall.

We could see a pop up thunderstorm due to daytime heating. Storm coverage likely stays isolated.

Highs warm into the lower 90s.

Low temperatures drop into the upper 60s and lower 70s again by Friday morning under partly cloudy skies.

Friday warmth

Dry weather continues Friday with high pressure taking over.

Highs range from 90 to 94 degrees as we continue drying out under mostly sunny skies.

Partly cloudy skies return Friday night through Saturday morning with lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

Weekend and next week The heat begins to intensify Saturday and Sunday.

No precipitation is in the forecast at this time.

Highs warm into the lower and middle 90s both days with lows at night in the upper 60s to lower 70s each night.

Monday and Tuesday should feel like July with mostly sunny days and partly cloudy nights.

Highs top out in the lower to middle 90s each day with lows in the lower 70s each night. Rain chances remain marginal at best.

A disturbance in the Gulf should remain to our east this weekend.
