‘Kohlrouladen’ – stuffed cabbage rolls
The first stuffed cabbage recipe was submitted to the first PTA cookbook by Mrs. Owe W. Striegler, the former Anna Püschel, born 1851, i n B astrop. S he m arried Owe, a Danish immigrant here in 1869. He taught at Meusebach Creek, a country school. Their daughter was the mother of Stella Jung, my FHS biology teacher. Anna’s recipe was retained through the 10th edition in 1971.
