The Advisory Committee of the Crabapple Fire Relief Fund, housed at the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, gave six $10,000 grants to each volunteer fire departments in Gillespie County that helped in extinguishing the Crabapple Fire which burned nearly 10,000 acres in March.
