The Harper Community Park has a playground with picnic tables under large shade trees, and you can visit the Pioneer History Museum on Sundays. The park provides a venue for different types of activities including dances, rodeos, weddings, family reunions, religious and educational events.
Planning for the Annual Harper Frontier Days will be underway soon and if you or someone you know is interested in being a sponsor or volunteer to help make it a success, please reach out. The Harper Farmers’ Market, located at the Branded Meat Market, has new hours to beat the heat. Come by on Fridays from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for your local baked goods, produce and other homemade goods.
The third in the series of the Open 4D Barrel Race and Youth Series hosted by Hill Country Horse Club at the Harper Community Park is June 6. Youth events include barrels, poles and straightaway. Youth age groups are 8 and under, 9-13 and 14-19. The last date in the series is Aug. 8. Contact Diane Wetz for more information at 830-739-4883.
Central Texas Electric Cooperative (CTEC) District Meeting for Gillespie County, District 5 will be held Thursday, June 12 at the Gillespie County Farm Bureau Events Center. You are invited to come and learn more about the coop. Each membership in attendance will receive a $10 bill credit and be eligible for door prizes!
Beginning June 16 and every second Saturday of the month, you are invited to the 290 Market Days at Harper Community Park. Vendors, food trucks, live entertainment and free kids’ activities are planned. The second date in the Harper Community Chamber of Commerce Goat Roping Series is Friday, June 20 at Headwaters. Books open at 6:30 p.m., roping starts at 7 p.m. Cost is $20 per team.
