Friends of the Fredericksburg Tea Party should take notice that its June meeting will be on the first Thursday of the month, June 5.
This will only be for the June meeting, and organizers anticipate returning to the usual second Thursday meeting day in July.
The group meets at St. Joseph’s Halle, 212 W. San Antonio Street in Fredericksburg. Following the meal (available for a $7 donation) at 6 p.m., the meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and run until 8 p.m. Childcare will be provided.
The Tea Party will welcome Bill Peacock as its guest speaker. Peacock is a Texas Hill Country local and writes about intersection of faith, culture and public policy. He has worked in and around Texas government for more than 30 years, combining his passions for theology, economics and public policy.
Previously, he was vice president of research and director of the Center for Economic Freedom at the Texas Public Policy Foundation. His work has appeared at the Heartland Institute, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, Townhall and elsewhere. He also writes at Excellent-Thought.net.
“Join us for dinner and prepare to be impressed by the passion and knowledge that FTP is bringing to Fredericksburg,” said spokesman Joe Murphy. “The Fredericksburg Tea Party invites everyone to our meeting, especially those who are looking for a way to make a positive difference. The Fredericksburg Tea Party has an outlet for you to have a say in the governance of your city, state and nation. You can find friends that want our nation to return to its Constitutional foundations. We educate, advocate and participate. And we have an enjoyable time in the process.”
