Six local students named CFC scholarship recipients

Nearly 120 graduating high school seniors, including six from Gillespie County high schools, were awarded $1,000 scholarships this year, in five Capital Farm Credit regions across Texas.

Five of the students are Fredericksburg High School graduates, while one is from Harper High School.

These students will be attending accredited vocational or technical schools, colleges or universities full time in the fields of agriculture or natural resources, including programs such as ag communications, ag economics/business, ag education, wildlife or ranch management.

“We got hundreds of strong applications this year, which tells me the future of agriculture is bright,” said Jeff Norte, president and CEO of Capital Farm Credit.

Since Capital Farm Credit’s centennial celebration in 2016, nearly $1 million has been awarded to more than 900 Texas students.

Local recipients, from the Austin Region, their high school and parents include:

Fredericksburg

Addison Hahn, Fredericksburg High School (FHS), Blaine and Marsha Hahn, of Doss; Addison Schoessow, FHS, Christopher and Gayle Schoessow, Fredericksburg; Holt Herber, FHS, Treff and Kerinne Herber, Fredericksburg; Reese Sagebiel, FHS, Robert and Lauren Sagebiel, Fredericksburg; Rylie Schneider, FHS, Ryan and Kelly Schneider, Fredericksburg.

Harper
