Carter Creek Winery Resort & Spa will be featured in the PBS television segment, “Hidden Gems of Texas Hill Country.”
The episode, hosted by Peter Greenberg, airs last week on PBS.
“We are honored to be featured in Peter Greenberg’s Hidden Gems of Texas Hill Country on PBS,” said Jeff Carter, president of Carter Hospitality. “We can’t wait to welcome guests for a July 10 screening and will enjoy sharing the full Hill Country experience through our special stay package.”
Among the highlights in the segment are the legacy of wine industry trailblazer Doc McPherson — father of Carter Creek’s master winemaker, Jon McPherson, as well as the craft brewing expertise of Carter Creek’s head brewer, Justin Zimmerman, according to a spokesperson.
The program showcases the Texas Hill Country’s limestone caves, the first whiskey distillery in Texas and the story of Hye.
In conjunction with the broadcast, Carter Creek Winery unveiled a limited-time Hidden Gems of Texas Hill Country package available through August for $400. Reservations can be made online.
The package includes: Two nights in a private villa at Carter Creek Winery Resort & Spa; beer tastings for two at Old 290 Brewery, Carter Creek’s gastropub-style restaurant featuring house-made craft beers, award-winning wines and local cuisine; signature bourbon flights for two at Garrison Brothers Distillery in Hye and a wine tasting for two at Wildseed Farms Winery.
Carter Creek, located at 4064 U.S. 290 West, Johnson City, will host a special screening event at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 10 with a question and answer session.
