Harper class walks by faith

Harper class walks by faith

Good evening everyone: Faculty, families, friends and most importantly, the Class of 2025.

I would like to start off by saying how incredibly grateful I am to be standing here in front of y’all tonight. These past four years have flown by — especially this year. My dad always says, “Time flies when you’re having fun,” and while I didn’t always see the fun in school, there have definitely been fun times that I will never forget.

Some of my very favorite memories have been on ag trips thoughout my time in FFA with some of my best friends. From countless hours of Clark, Cat, Kelly and me annoying everyone on the bus, to that one trip where I lost my bagel and thought my friends were hiding it from me, when really, I had sat on it and it was stuck to my back — a fact Cat pointed out, sending us all into hysterical laughter. I will always have such fond memories from these trips and am so thankful that I was able to be a part of the Harper FFA community.

Another memory that I will remember is our senior trip that we took just last week. We made lots of fun memories altogether going to Kalahari and Texas Roadhouse — even though our “class bonding” involved closing all the AC vents, sweltering in the Texas heat and everyone yelling at each other on the way home.

Right now, I want to encourage us all to take this time to look around. This is such a special time in our lives. Look at your friends and remember this moment together. Take time tonight to thank your parents for all they’ve done along the way to help you get here.

Momma, you have always been there for me and supported me in everything I have done. Thank you.

Dad, I would not be standing right here, right now, if it weren’t for the Divide School and your guidance throughout my education. I love y’all so much and am so grateful that y’all have raised me to love the Lord and live like Jesus.

For those who have been here since pre-k, to those who we have gotten to welcome in our more recent years, it’s such an honor to have grown up with you all and to stand here at graduation alongside one another today.

As we go our separate ways, I would like for us to look back at what we have all been through together, and see how far we have come. I am so proud of each and every one of us here today, and I can’t wait to see what our future holds and where life takes us.

2 Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” I encourage you to trust in the Lord’s plan for your life and have faith in His plans and to always keep your eyes on Jesus. Thank you.
