More information
The city’s Historic Preservation Ordinance requires that properties located in the Historic District, or which are designated as Historic Landmarks, be preserved and not fall into disrepair. Homeowners with structures in need of exterior maintenance are eligible to apply for funding assistance.
The Fredericksburg City Council has allocated $30,000 for all grants this year. After applications are received, a committee will review them and grant recipients will be selected by Monday, July 28.
The funds are designed for owners in need of financial assistance and are offered as a reimbursement. Given the limited amount of funding, the grant is only open to owner- occupied structures with significant need.
