Traveling exhibit gives look into town’s founding
While many immigrants came to America through the famed-Ellis Island, those that helped establish Fredericksburg in the mid-1840s took another route. Galveston, known as the forgotten gateway, was how many accessed the Republic of Texas and eventually made their way to Fredericksburg from about 18451924.
