Annual Doss School end-of-year picnic Saturday in Doss

Students in the Doss Consolidated Common School District are getting ready for their annual end-of-year program Saturday, May 17, in Doss. The annual event is a fundraiser sponsored by the Friends of Doss School. After a day full of activities, the Doss School students will present their annual program at 6:30 p.m. As in years past, barbecue by the pound will be sold at 11 a.m. and again 4:30 p.m. Attendees need to bring sides for a picnic-style meal on the school grounds. Doss 4-H Club will be having a bake sale at 11 a.m., while later that afternoon, at 4 p.m., the Doss Community Club will be selling baked goods. Both organizations will be taking donations of baked goods to sell. The students will be conducting a plant and herb sale from 10 a.m.-noon and again from 4-5:30 p.m. Nearly 40 prizes will be given away during the evening program which begins at 6:30 p.m. Prize drawing tickets will be on sale throughout the day for $1 each or 6 for $5.
