ROUNDUP ASSISTANCE

Central Texas Electric Cooperative awarded a $500 grant to James Gilbert’s family in January. Pictured at the CTEC office in Fredericksburg from left is Atanacio Hinojosa, CEO of CTEC; Roy Kasper, CTEC Operation Round Up board member; James and Gabriela Gilbert, members and Curtis Schulze, CTEC Operation Round Up board member. Gilbert, who suffered a 13-foot fall while at work, received the $500 electric bill credit to help take some strain off the family’s monthly expenses. The donation was given by CTEC members who voluntarily participate in Operation Round-Up. By having monthly electric bills rounded up to the next whole dollar each month, CTEC members are able to pass savings onto other members, who need it. To help local members in need, enroll online at ctec.coop. The average contribution comes to 50 cents per month, or $6 for an entire year. All donations are tax-deductible. — Submitted photo
