Hill Country Weather with Dr Doppler
After weeks and weeks of very warm weather conditions across the Hill Country, we can expect a pattern change to impact our area during the next week and a half.
Cooler days are just around the corner, but we have to battle through a few days with higher humidity and comparatively warm temperatures.
The good news is that we have rain chances in the forecast for the first time in nearly two months.
Most of the precipitation will be fairly light, but a few thunderstorms are possible with a cold front late Wednesday night into Thursday.
A cold front next Monday brings a true taste of fall across the area that may end our warm weather stretch of the past seven weeks.
Wednesday remains warm and humid with highs in the 80s after morning lows in the 60s.
Gusty south winds continue at 15 to 25 mph with gusts over 30 mph possible during the day.
A couple of showers and isolated thunderstorms will be possible throughout the day.
Overnight storms
As a cold front invades the Hill Country late Wednesday night, rain chances increase along and ahead of the actual cold front.
Storms are possible during the late night hours through daybreak Thursday.
Lows drop into the 60s with winds becoming northeast behind the frontal system.
This won’t be the knockout cold front, but it will dry us out a bit Thursday with highs in the 70s and lower 80s.
North winds average 10 to 15 mph.
Mostly cloudy
Mostly cloudy skies return Thursday night with humidity values remaining high.
Low temperatures will end up in the 50s and 60s, depending on sky conditions.
Light showers are possible.
This pattern continues through the upcoming weekend when high temperatures climb into the lower 80s each day with lows in the 50s and 60s each morning.
There will be at least a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast on a daily basis.
In general, rainfall totals are not expected to be very heavy, but it’s better than nothing at all.
Much cooler?
A stronger cold front arrives Monday and Tuesday of next week.
This front could hold highs in the 60s and 70s with lows in the 40s and 50s each day.
There are at least two mornings where we could see a few 30s possible. That favors Wednesday and Thursday.
