The Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) responded to 659 calls for service, including 170 traffic stops and 15 arrests during the week of Monday through Sunday, Oct. 14-20.
Accidents
The GCSO responded to eight minor crashes.
Disturbance
On Thursday, Oct. 17 a GCSO deputy responded to a disturbance call in the 4300 block of Texas 16 South. Upon arrival, the deputy saw a male subject outside yelling and cursing. During the investigation, the deputy determined that the male was intoxicated. Kyle Dean Garlington, 43, of Fredericksburg, was arrested for public intoxication.
Drugs – Alcohol
On Monday, Oct. 14, a deputy responded to a report of a reckless driver travelling on Texas 16 South. The deputy found the car parked in the lane of traffic, and observed that the driver was asleep. Michael Anthony Krupa, 43, of Cedar Park, was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
On Monday, Oct. 14, a deputy responded to a call regarding a reckless driver going westbound on U.S. 290 East. The deputy located the vehicle and made a traffic stop in the 10000 block. The driver, Bernadette Faye Loth, 68, of Fredericksburg, was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
On Tuesday, Oct. 15, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on U.S. 290 West and Old Harper Road. During the stop, the deputy developed probable cause to search the vehicle. The deputy found THC vape cartridges and a handgun. Mitchell Lee Mendoza, 37, of Houston, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
On Tuesday, Oct. 15, GCSO deputies served a search warrant in the 600 block of Columbus Street. Freddie Colon, 52, of Fredericksburg, was arrested for manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance.
On Tuesday, Oct. 15, GCSO deputies executed an arrest warrant in the 23000 block of U.S. 290 West in Harper. Manolo Ubaldo Sanchez, 55, of Harper was arrested for child trafficking.
On Friday, Oct. 18, a deputy made a traffic stop near Old San Antonio Road and River Bend Ranch Road after noticing behavior consistent with impaired driving. During the stop, the female driver admitted to having marijuana paraphernalia on her person, as well as four Adderall pills for which she could not provde a prescription.
When informed of an impending search, she admitted to having a bag of methamphetmamine in her bra and provided it to the deputy. During the search, deputies located a methamphetamine-smoking bong, as well as another bag that contained traces of methamphetamine. The driver, Misti Dawn Gaston, 35, of Colorado City, and the passenger, Larissa Nell Holloway, 26, of Colorado City, were placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance. At the Law Enforcement Center, the pills were tested and returned a positive reaction for fentanyl, leading to another charge of possession of a controlled substance for the driver.
On Saturday, Oct. 19, GCSO deputies responded to a disturbance in the 100 block of Derwen Drive. A male was attempting to enter the residence, who the complainant reported having a restraining order against. Deputies contacted the subject, who was found to be intoxicated. Deputies learned that the subject entered the residence through a window before being chased out. Edgar Adrian Perez, 45, of Stonewall, was arrested for public intoxication and criminal trespassing.
On Sunday, Oct. 20, deputies received a call from Tractor Supply Co., 3325 U.S. 290 East, regarding two individuals shoplifting. While deputies responded, the male suspect left in a gray Jeep pulling a trailer. A short time later, the female suspect left the store looking for the male. A Department of Public Safety (DPS) trooper located the female walking toward the Fredericksburg city limits. After speaking with her, the trooper and deputies observed the male driving the Jeep and made a stop.
During the stop, the deputies smelled marijuana from the vehicle. A search found methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana, other pills and numerous new tools from Tractor Supply Co. The male initially gave false information on his identity, but was properly identified. Russell Blinn Tenney, 41, of Willis, had two felony warrants out of Tom Green County. Tenney was arrested on these warrants and charged with failure to identify, fugitive intent, possession of a controlled substance and theft of property. The female, Heather Renee Sweatt, 46, of Austin was arrested for possession of a dangerous drug.
On Sunday, Oct. 20, a deputy made a traffic stop in the 6000 block of U.S. 290 East. During the stop, the deputy noticed the female driver tuck something into her shirt. After investigation, the driver admitted that she had hidden contraband. The contents of the container included marijuana paraphernalia and a bag containing a usable amount of methamphetamine. Chelsea Lynn Green, 41, of Steelville, Missouri, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
Jail
On Monday, Oct. 14, the GCSO transport officer and a detention officer traveled to Val Verde Correctional Facility in Del Rio to pick up Delfino Ramirez-Godinez, 58, of Fredericksburg. Ramirez-Godinez was booked on a warrant of bail jumping and failure to appear.
On Tuesday, Oct. 15, a detention officer transported on inmate to and from the dentist.
On Wednesday, Oct. 16, two detention officers transported three inmates to the Plane State Jail in Dayton.
On Friday, Oct. 18, a detention officer met with Allen Paul Andrichyn, 62, of Fredericksburg, who turned himself in on a warrant of possession of a controlled substance.
On Friday, Oct. 18, a detention officer met with Gladys Andrichyn, 49, of Fredericksburg, who turned herself in for possession of a controlled substance.
On Friday, Oct. 18, a detention officer took one inmate to and from the dentist.
