“Young Eagles” flights, hosted by the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 1088, will be Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Gillespie County Airport.
The flights are free for those aged 8-17, but a parent or legal guardian must be in attendance. Reservations are required, and space is limited.
Reservations are available online at youngeag lesday.org/?11978. Should inclement weather occur, the event will be rescheduled to Sunday, Oct. 20.
Since 1992, the National Young Eagles program has provided over two million flights to youth to expose them to aviation. All aircraft expenses are covered by volunteer pilots.
The October meeting will be a social gathering prior to the scheduled Young Eagle Rally. Tacos, at $5 per taco, and coffee will be offered.
Attendees are asked to bring their own lawn chair to watch the Young Eagle flights, and RSVP to 1088eaa@gmail.com.
