Chapter 1088 of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) will offer introductory “Young Eagles” flights at the Gillespie County Airport on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The flights are free for those aged 8-17, but a parent or legal guardian must be in attendance. Reservations are required, and space is limited.
Reservations are available online at youngeag lesday.org/?11978. Should inclement weather occur, the event will be rescheduled to Sunday, Oct. 20.
Since 1992, the National Young Eagles program has provided over two million flights to youth to expose them to aviation. All aircraft expenses are covered by volunteer pilots.
The EAA is a non-profit organization that serves the community by inspiring new participants in aviation and enriching the aviation experience.
