The next meeting of the Hill Country Astronomers (HCA) will feature a presentation from club member Bruce Barton on the SkySafari mobile app.
The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7 at the Fellowship Hall of Zion Lutheran Church, 415 West Austin Street.
Barton’s presentation will give an overview of SkySafari, a “desktop planetarium” app, and how to use it, regardless of the user’s previous astronomy experience.
Barton, a longtime amateur astronomer, began his search of the stars with his first telescope in 1985. He has served as the vice president and president of West Texas Astronomers and Hill Country Astronomers. With his telescope collection, he takes photos of celestial objects from his personal observatory near Ingram.
Regardless of experience level, all are welcome to join HCA. Membership is not required to attend monthly meeting.
