Saving the Fredericksburg Bank
On Feb. 19, 1932, the Great Depression hit Fredericksburg like a falling safe. Both local banks went out of business on the same day. Both front doors, bolted tighter than a bank vault, posted the same alarming message: “Closed for Reorganization.”
