Dedication hosted for Marktplatz’s improvements June 5
To celebrate the completion of Marktplatz’s Phase I and II renovations, a dedication was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 5.
The event was hosted by the City of Fredericksburg and the Market Square Redevelopment Commission and began at the Pioneer Memorial Garden on Marktplatz.
The highlight of the improvements is the John Wm. Klein Room at the northwest corner of Marktplatz. Other improvements include new public restrooms and bronze busts honoring President Lyndon B. Johnson and Admiral Chester W. Nimitz.
Major donors of the project were also recognized at the event.
