FREE CONCERT

Pedernales Creative Arts Alliance hosted its second concert of the season on Sunday, May 19 at Marktplatz. “Rock Before Dawn,” a band of service members based at Camp Mabry in Austin, performed for the crowd, which escaped the afternoon sun in the shade of the Oktoberfest Halle. The PCAA holds the concerts each summer as a way of saying “thank you” to the community for its volunteer efforts at Oktoberfest, the largest weekend for activities downtown. At left, Rock Before Dawn singer Spc. Landon Schwausch and keyboardist Trey Lindsey perform a rock tune for dancers. — Standard-Radio Post/Ken Esten Cooke
