Three-year-old Elijah Feller won big at the Fredericksburg High School Band cakewalk last Thursday. The band boosters sold 150 cakes and baked goods during the event. The live auction’s top five cakes raised $1,000 for the boosters. All proceeds of the fundraiser are going toward outfitting the 18-wheeler trailer that was purchased last year. “What people don’t understand is that we’re the only 4A school that doesn’t have its own band trailer,” said Melanie Bopp, FHS Band Booster President. “We have to rent UHauls and take seven vehicles to competitions and games.” She said, the band boosters is the largest program in the school district and supports over 600 students at the middle and high schools. – Submitted photo
