The Willow City Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department (WCVFR) invites the community to their annual benefit fundraiser on Saturday, May 4, at the Willow City Fire Station located at 2553 Ranch Road 1323.
The event kicks off at 3:30 p.m. with a welcome ceremony and the raising of the U.S. and Texas flags. Attendees can explore the Auxiliary’s Country Store from 3-5 p.m., featuring homemade baked goods, handsewn crafts, “Willow City Recipes and Remembrances” cookbooks, and more. The Specialty Boutique, offering WCVFR-branded merchandise, will be open from 3-6 p.m.
The silent auction starts at 3 p.m. and concludes at 5:30 p.m., followed by a live auction with auctioneer Tim Jeanes from 4-5:30 p.m.
A pork barbecue meal with all the trimmings, including homemade desserts, will be served after the live auction.
Meals are available by free-will donation and can be enjoyed on-site, drive-thru or carry-out.
The prize giveaway drawings begin at 7 p.m., with chances available for purchase at one ticket for $2 or six tickets for $10. Prizes include appliances, artwork, auto and tool products, cooler ice chests, electronics, indoor and outdoor furniture, gift items, jewelry, home décor, outdoor cookers, pecan pies, quilts, firearms and more.
Proceeds from the event support the 501(c)(4) non-profit all-volunteer department in maintaining and improving the station, equipment, and vehicles, as well as funding training, insurance and routine operating expenses.
