Hill Country Weather with Dr Doppler
If only next week were as quiet as this week’s forecast will be.
The weather pattern looks very nice through the end of this week with mostly sunny skies and pleasant temperatures in place.
Changes begin to show up over the weekend and early next week, just in time for the 2024 total solar eclipse in Gillespie County.
One thing is for certain. It will be dark whether we have cloud cover or sunshine.
Unfortunately, for Gillespie County, Monday is the hardest day to forecast the weather out of the next seven days.

Nice pattern
Wednesday features beautiful weather conditions across the Hill Country.
Ample sunshine should allow daytime highs to warm into the middle and upper 70s.
Northwest winds remain gusty at 10-20 mph.
Humidity levels remain comfortable.
Clear skies continue Wednesday night with cool overnight lows in the 40s. A few 30s are possible across low-lying areas.
Thursday remains sunny, but five to seven degrees warmer, with highs in the 80s.
Increasing clouds
Friday remains dry although high clouds increase across the Hill Country during this time.
Highs top out in the 80s with gusty south-southeast winds in the forecast.
The weekend becomes problematic with clouds.
Intervals of clouds and sunshine are likely as humidity levels rise and a cold front approaches the area Sunday.
The clouds will hold highs in the 70s Saturday with gusty south winds in the forecast.
Lows remain in the 50s over the weekend with clouds most likely during the late night and morning hours each day.
A Sunday cold front brings variable wind shifts to the west and northwest with highs in the 70s and 80s.
The cold front itself could produce showers and thunderstorms Saturday night through Sunday morning.
After that, the front is scheduled to wash out to our south and east Sunday night into Monday.
That’s where problems start showing up.
Uncertain Monday
Monday is the day of the total eclipse and the day everyone has been waiting for.
A storm system across the western U.S. will bring more clouds and a chance of rain and thunderstorms to our area late Monday into Tuesday.
Clouds and a glimmer of sunshine remain possible Monday during the eclipse.
As of press time, models are showing 60 to 70 percent cloud cover Monday, April 8.
It remains uncertain, so follow our daily updates for the latest.
