Gillespie County Sheriff’s deputies were called to East U.S. Highway 290 and Chaparral Drive on Saturday, March 2, at 4:25 a.m., for a truck tractor that hit cattle on the road. The driver wasn’t injured, but the deputies found two dead cows on the highway. They were moved off the highway with a tractor, and the truck tractor was towed from the scene.
