Hill Country Weather with Dr Doppler
The weather forecast remains unsettled across the Hill Country for the next few days. Rain chances continue off and on with most of the activity spreading east of the area by Thursday afternoon.
A cold front moves across the region Friday bringing a slight chance of showers and cooler temperatures over the weekend.
Dry weather is expected early next week to finish out the next full week of weather conditions.
Wednesday showers
Showers remain possible Wednesday, especially during the first part of the day.
Rumbles of thunder may also occur.
A low pressure system that has produced low clouds and scattered showers since Monday will move to the east and we will dry out a little by Thursday.
Highs remain in the 50s Wednesday with clouds likely winning the battle over sunshine. North winds average 5 to 10 mph during the day.
Dense fog returns?
Low clouds and patchy dense fog will return to the Hill Country landscape Wednesday night through daybreak Thursday.
Low temperatures will be colder after midnight with readings in the lower to middle 40s with light north winds continuing overnight.
Mild Thursday
Just like last week, Thursday will be a mild day ahead of our next cold front.
We should see a mixture of clouds and sunshine, allowing temperatures to climb into the middle and upper 60s.
Winds become westsouthwest and the air will be drier as a result.
Patchy fog Friday
Friday morning starts off with temperatures in the 40s. Low clouds and patchy dense fog will remain possible for a few hours.
A cold front tries to sneak across the area Friday. This brings a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms to the area.
Highs warm into the 60s with a few 70s also possible.
Cooler weekend
The frontal passage Friday will usher cooler temperatures and lower rain chances for a few days.
Saturday and Sunday will be dry, but noticeably cooler.
High temperatures drop into the 50s and 60s both days. Low temperatures at night drop into the 30s and 40s.
A light freeze is possible Sunday morning if skies become completely clear.
This pattern is duplicated Sunday night through Monday morning.
