A wreath was laid at the Memorial Courtyard of the National Museum of the Pacific War on Thursday, Dec. 7 in memory of those lost at Pearl Harbor. Pictured at right is Bill Dillon who served as a submarine radioman in the Pacific Theater during World War II and was part of a crew that sunk or damaged 21 Japanese ships and rescued 12 American pilots. PEARL HARBOR REMEMBERED
Author Stephen L. Moore spoke at the Pearl Harbor Day ceremony at the National Museum of the Pacific War about his historical account of the WWII events that included Dillon. Moore’s book is titled “Strike of the Sailfish: Two Sister Submarines and the Sinking of a Japanese Aircraft Carrier.” – Standard-Radio Post/Brent Burgess
