The Texas Exes Fredericksburg Chapter announces plans for its December Christmas/ Holiday Thirsty Thursday.
This special event is scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Western Edge Kitchen and Cocktails located at 228 West Main Street.
This event will feature a social and holiday celebration, followed by dinner where attendees pre-select one of three menu options (chicken fried steak, rosemary chicken, or penne pasta bowl).
Those planning to attend should RSVP to Jamie Morris, chapter president, by Nov. 30 with their menu selection and names of those sharing a table.
This year, the chapter is again adopting families through the Hill Country Community Needs Council. The chapter has been assigned seven families with a total of 20 children. Chapter members will be able to donate cash, checks or gift cards toward this initiative, either on-site at the event or by mailing a donation to chapter treasurer Susan Mahoney, P.O. Box 572, Fredericksburg, TX 78624, if unable to attend in person.
All donations will be used toward gifts and specific needs of each family adopted, based on information provided by the Needs Council. Any excess donations after purchase of gifts and household items will be designated for utility bills for families. Identity of families adopted is confidential.
All current and former alumni, students and their families and all friends of the University of Texas at Austin are encouraged to attend Thirsty Thursday.
