Local student Lewie Melton wins STPGA Junior Tourney
Lewie Melton of Fredericksburg won the South Texas Professional Golf Association (STPGA) Junior Prestige Tour in the Boys 15-18 Division at Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course on Sunday, Oct. 29.
Melton shot a 67 on the first day and followed it up with a 73 on the second day of the tournament.
Melton initially tied for first place with Cameron Villarreal of San Antonio.
Both players entered a one-hole playoff. Melton emerged victorious and won the tournament by shooting a birdie in the playoff round.
