Residents who are interested in native plants but don’t know where to start, or want tough, waterthrifty plants but are not sure which ones are suited to a certain space, are invited to attend a garden tour at Gilbriar Gazebo and Gardens.
As part of Native Plant Week, Paula Stone, a thirdterm president of the Fredericksburg Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas (NPSOT), will be giving a tour of Gilbriar Gazebo and Gardens and talking about the many native plants in her collection.
New members and potential members are invited to tour the gardens at Gilbriar, 118 Danos Drive, on Saturday, Oct. 15, or Sunday, Oct. 16.
Both tours start at 10 a.m. and are limited to 16 participants.
A $10 donation is requested to help support NPSOT’s work in the community.
The public is invited to see how the plants work in a landscape, learn the names of their favorites and collect a few seeds for their own garden.
After the tour, there will be an opportunity to join the chapter, which would make individuals eligible to buy plants at the membersonly plant sale the following week.
