Below right, this pencil drawing from 1965 is of Fredericksburg’s iconic Vereins Kirche. It was drawn by the late Houston artist Buck Schiwetz, who loved to travel the back roads of Texas and sketch. Schiwetz died in 1984.
Directly below, a series of pen sketches from Fredericksburg artist Charles Beckendorf tell the story of Spindletop. Beckendorf, revered for his wildlife art, died in 1996.
The gallery also has works from Fredericksburg’s celebrated artist G. Harvey, who died in 2017, and other Hill Country artists.
