It was a dog day afternoon as members of Hill Country Recording for the Handicapped (HCRH) gathered at the Fredericksburg Dog Park, Large Dog Area, to dedicate a gift to the park in memory of Peggy Hartwein.
Mrs. Hartwein’s husband, Ken, said she loved her work with HCRH almost as much as she loved her dog, Princestoo.
The gift is a six-foot composite park bench that rests under a large sycamore tree and bears a plaque stating, “In Loving Memory of Peggy Hartwein, Hill Country Recording for the Handicapped.”
Mrs. Hartwein was an honorary member of the board of directors and was instrumental to the success of the organization.
HCRH exists primarily to provide visually impaired citizens a weekly narration of the Fredericksburg Standard-Radio Post. The service is free and they currently have 18 clients.
