Fredericksburg City Council gave a preliminary thumbs up to a 24-cent property tax rate (per $100 valuation) during its Monday meeting. Public hearings will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 30 at City Hall and at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5 at the Law Enforcement Center, prior to council approval
