Senior FHS varsity girls’ basketball post player Hannah Wilson led the Billies with 85 points in five games over the weekend at the Navarro Varsity Tournament.

The Billies, ranked 13th in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches’ Class 4A poll, finished 4-1 at the tournament and improved their record to 9-2.

After playing five games last week, the Billies look ahead to another busy week.

The girls took on Wimberley in Tuesday, preparing them for the upcoming Fredericksburg Tournament this weekend.

“Wimberley will be scrappy,” Grona said. “They have good outside shooters so we have to again, focus, and maintain our press break. We have to cut down turnovers and continue to play together.”

The Billies expect a tough first round this weekend as they will take on the second-ranked Liberty Hill Panthers.

Liberty Hill features Sedona Prince, a player who has committed to playing college ball at the University of Texas.

“Abby handled her well last year and I am curious to see Hannah thrown in there,” Grona said. “They will have to be tough and overcome adversity.”
