Local golf course slated to stay open for now

Following approval from Fredericksburg City Council, the Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Golf Course will remain open.

The course has closed its restaurant and golf shop. Check-in is available through the service window in the shop by credit card only.

Can and bottle beverages will be available through the golf shop window, as well as limited merchandise.

Restroom access is accessible through the side door, in between the golf shop and the restaurant, and will be monitored to limit access. Access closes at 5 p.m.

All golf cart rentals will be on a one rider per cart basis, and course staff is encouraging customers to walk when possible.

Carts must be returned by 7 p.m.

The first tee time is 8 a.m. Tee times are available only 48 hours in advance, to accommodate future governmental restrictions.

“The health and safety of our customers and employees is our top priority,” a spokesperson said. “We hope that as always, you exercise caution and safety through these unprecedented times.”

Customers can prepay their green fee at GolfNow.com.
