The Ladyhorns rolled through their playoff opener Monday night.
Harper girls’ basketball beat La Pryor, 69-23, in the Class 2A bi-district round on Monday, Feb. 17, at Leakey.
The Ladyhorns’ sharpshooters led the way against La Pryor, led by freshmen Talli Millican, who made six 3-pointers and led Harper with 23 total points.
Sophomore Rachel Perkins scored 19 points, including five 3s.
Harper’s defense held La Pryor to 10 points, which helped the team take a 19-point lead at halftime.
A 21-8 third quarter put away the Lions and handed Harper a bi-district championship for a second straight season.
Harper faces the winner of Thorndale/North Zulch in the area round later this week.
Thorndale, the District 25-2A champions, have advanced to the third round the last two seasons.
The Ladyhorns also beat Junction, 65-10, to wrap up the regular season on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at home.
Harper (23-8) finished District 27-2A with a 4-4 record, good enough for third place.
San Saba won the district championship after beating Mason, 28-26, in a tiebreaker Friday, Feb. 14, in Mason.
The Lady Armadillos also beat San Antonio Stacey, 60-29, in bi-district Monday, Feb. 17.
San Saba is the No. 5 team in Class 2A, according to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches. The Mason Cowgirls are No. 6.
