Ladyhorns beat Llano 43-33 for first hoops' win of season
The Harper Ladyhorns’ varsity basketball team dropped its early-season record to 1-2 after losing Saturday's non-district home match-up to Rocksprings by a 45-37 margin.
On Tuesday, Nov. 14, HHS earned a 43-33 decision at Llano for its first victory of the still-young season.
The Ladyhorns hosted San Antonio Randolph on Monday afternoon, then traveled to Johnson City on Tuesday.
Results of these two contests were not known by this week's early publication deadline.
Harper returns to the court on Nov. 28 when they host Leakey at 6:30 p.m. (junior varsity teams will play at 5 p.m.) From there, the Ladyhorns will host their annual tournament Nov. 30-Dec. 2.
Rocksprings 45, Harper 37
Harper saw its tenuous one-point lead (12-11) go by the wayside in the early part of the second period as the Ladyhorns suffered a 45-37 home loss to Rocksprings Saturday afternoon.
Leading scorer for HHS was Gracie Green, who rattled the nets for 11 points, including a 5-for-6 effort from the free throw line. Meanwhile, Brittany Schlueter added another seven points to the Ladyhorn cause.
