Heritage School 64, San Marcos Hill Country 48
“This was vintage good-old-fashion Fredericksburg Heritage (‘Freddy’) football at its best,” said Eagle head coach Tim Shipman. “San Marcos was bigger; however, we brought the bigger wood.”
Despite the final 18-point differential in the final score, Heritage maintained a lead of from two to 10 points throughout much of the night.
Two late touchdowns by the Eagles’ Jonathan Hoermann (of four and 19 yards, respectively) put Heritage up by as much as 24 points with only 4:23 left on the scoreboard.
The Rams (8-3) managed to tighten the score at 64-48 on a six-yard TD pass play late in the contest.
