Harper baseball remains in playoff hunt


Harper's varsity baseball team split its last two games, defeating Junction 11-1 on Tuesday, April 4, then dropping a 10-0 decision at Center Point on Friday.

The Longhorns will travel to Menard tomorrow (Thursday) for a 4:30 p.m.  contest. From there, San Antonio Cole comes calling on Tuesday with first pitch set for 5:30 p.m.

Center Point 10, Harper 0

Homestanding Center Point scored in the early and late innings to top Harper by a 10-0 score on Friday, ending the game in the bottom of the sixth frame under the 10-run “mercy” rule.

The Pirates took advantage of their six hits and four Longhorn errors to dominated the contest.

Tracy Patterson, who started the game on the mound for Harper, lasted 4.2 innings before giving way to reliever Dylan Sivells.
