Girls’ hoops struggle against Tivy, down Mason

The Fredericksburg High School girls’ varsity basketball team spilt a pair of games during the week, taking the win against Mason on Saturday, Nov. 18 and losing against Kerrville Tivy on Tuesday, Nov. 14.

The Billies faced Burnet High School in an afternoon match-up on Monday, Nov. 20.

Before the game, head coach Carrie Grona said the team will focus on finding their identity.

“We really need to find our identity as a team,” Grona said. “We are playing too much like the team last year, without the necessary players.”

The Billies play Lampasas today (Tuesday, Nov. 21) at 7 p.m. in Lampasas.

The team will travel to Jourdanton on Nov. 28.

“We should be able to dominate them, if we play our game and limit our turnovers,” Grona said.

Mason

Going into Saturday, Grona was leery of two tall Mason post players, but after taking the win 51-29, she feels more confident.
