A former Fredericksburg High School grad is one round away from the College World Series. LSU Tigers freshman pitcher Riggs Threadgill, who graduated from FHS in 2018, is heading to the NCAA Division I Super Regionals after his team won in the regional round this weekend. The Tigers went 3-0 to win the Baton Rouge Regionals, beating Southern Miss twice (8-4 and 6-4) and Stony Brook once (17-3).
Threadgill did not make an appearance in the regional round, but has pitched 13 2/3 innings in 11 total appearances this season.
The former Billies starter has struck out 12 batters this season.
