FHS spikers set to start fall practice

The Fredericksburg High School volleyball team will head back to the court next week ahead of the start of the normal practice schedule for two-a-day practices.

Practices begin with tryouts in the morning on Tuesday, Aug. 1.

Aug. 2-3 will be practice, followed by scrimmages on Aug. 4 and 5, against Wimberly and Kerrville, respectfully.

In her second year at the helm, head coach Kaci Rittimann has high expectations for her team.

“My expectations during two-a-days are to see these players play and practice at a high level and push the girls out of their comfort zone,” she said.

By holding two-a-day practices, Rittiman will be raising expectations for her future team.

“I want these girls to gain confidence and respect for themselves and their teammates,” Rittiman said. ‘The most important thing for me as a coach is to set my expectations high and motivate them.”

Returning to the team this year includes, senior Aubrey Sultemeier (a verbal commit to Ole Miss), seniors Grace Allen, Laundry Moffett, Ali Grona, Madi Wahrmund, Julia Maenius and Kathryn Rodriguez; juniors Rose Stuewe, and Molly Pluenneke.
